Learning Outcome 2

When it comes to using sources in my paper, I start off by finding quotes that will help me support and help build on my argument, but also that I can connect to other sources. I started with Steve Lohr as my base, he states, “What is big data? A meme and a marketing term, for sure, but also shorthand for advancing trends in technology that open the door to a new approach to understanding the world and making decisions,” (The Age of Big Data). I was able to start of my showing how he explains what big data is to lead into other sources. He sets the base for what big data is by telling us how it works and how it can help change the future of humanity. With starting out with Lohr, I was able to connect other sources into my essay, sources like Medical big data; promise and challenges, Choong Ho Lee and Hyung-Jin yoon and How Big Data Is Changing Healthcare, Bernard Marr. With integrating these sources into my paper it helps supports my argument I have and being about to connect my sources like Ho Lee and Yoons paper to Marrs paper.  I was able to connect these two sources together by showing how they are both saying that big data can help in the medical field and what it can do for people. With using these sources, it has helped me support my argument and summarize what the sources are saying to build on my essay.
